Q1: How big a room is this for?
A1: At 93 by 68cm it's meant to be the main light in a living room, a master bedroom or an open-plan space, roughly 20 to 30 square metres. In a smaller room it can feel oversized.
Q2: Why choose a rectangle over a round light?
A2: It lines up with the room. In a long living room or above a rectangular sofa or bed it sits parallel to the walls and furniture, and the light spreads further along the length of the space.
Q3: How thick is the stone frame?
A3: The travertine frame is a narrow band around the edge, and the whole fixture is only 5cm deep. From below you mostly see the opal panel, with the stone giving it a warm outline.
Q4: Can I dim it?
A4: No. The LED driver is non-dimmable, so it simply turns on and off from your wall switch. Please don't wire it to a dimmer, as that can make the LED flicker or hum.
Q5: How is it fitted?
A5: It's hardwired to a ceiling junction box and screws to the ceiling at several points because of its size. Two people and an electrician are best for this one. Indoor use only, IP20.
Q6: How do I keep it clean?
A6: Switch it off at the breaker first, then wipe the stone with a dry or barely damp soft cloth. Skip bleach, solvents and scouring cream. The surface is sealed, but the open pores will hold onto anything harsh.
