Q1: How is the disc held up?
A1: A slim matt black tube is bent into a tall arch and welded to a low round base plate, and the alabaster disc hangs from a small black fitting at the crown of that arch. Nothing touches the disc except that single top fixing, so it sits suspended in the middle of the frame with clear air all around it.
Q2: What does it look like lit?
A2: The disc turns into a pale glowing circle held inside a dark outline — the reason this design is usually described as a moon lamp. The black frame stays visually recessive against a wall, so from a distance you mostly read the lit circle and the two thin verticals of the arch.
Q3: Is this model dimmable?
A3: No. Unlike the rest of this batch, T-XHS-037 is supplied with a plain push-button switch only and is not dimmable, so please do not put it on a dimmer circuit or specify a dimmable bulb for it. If you need a dimmable piece in a similar scale, ask us about the other models in this table-lamp range.
Q4: What bulb does it use?
A4: One G9 capsule socket at 5W, bulbs not supplied. A 3-5W non-dimmable G9 LED at 2700-3000K matches the output the lamp is designed around. The socket is concealed in the fitting at the crown of the arch, above the disc, so no part of the lamp is visible from in front.
Q5: Which plug is fitted?
A5: US, UK, AU or EU, specified with your order, with the cord set produced to the standard of the destination country so no adaptor is needed. The lamp is rated AC 110-240V, which means the same unit is supplied into 120V and 230V markets with only the plug and lead differing.
Q6: How heavy is the base — will it tip?
A6: The base is weighted round steel and is wider than the arch, so the lamp is stable in normal use on a level surface. It is still a tall, light object at H 38cm, so keep it back from the edge of a nightstand and route the cord behind the lamp rather than across the front of the base.
