Q1: How is the sphere joined to the base?
A1: It is seated directly into a shallow recess cut in the top of the cylinder, with no collar or ring between them. The two parts are the same material and the same finish, so from a metre away the lamp looks turned from one piece. The cord leaves at the very bottom edge of the base, out of the sightline.
Q2: How big is it in practice?
A2: Dia 18cm across the sphere and H 23cm overall including the base, so it takes up about as much room as a large candle. That is small enough for a nightstand alongside a book and a glass, and low enough that it does not block the view across a console or a shelf.
Q3: What bulb goes in it?
A3: One E26 or E27 screw socket rated Max 60W, bulbs not supplied. A 6-9W warm LED at 2700-3000K suits the piece; the sphere is thick enough to hide the lamp completely, so you never see a hot spot, but a very high-output bulb will still make the top of the globe read brighter than the sides.
Q4: Is a dimmer available?
A4: Yes. Every lamp in this batch is built with either a plain push-button switch or a dimmer switch, chosen at order time. The dimmer version must be used with dimmable E26/E27 bulbs. On a bedside globe the dimmer is worth specifying, because at low output the piece works as a night light rather than a lamp.
Q5: Which plug is fitted?
A5: The one for your market. US, UK, AU and EU cord sets are all available, produced to the destination country's standard, so the lamp plugs straight in with no adaptor — confirm the market on your order. The wiring is rated AC 110-240V, so the same lamp covers both common mains voltages.
Q6: Will the pattern be identical on every sphere?
A6: No, and on a curved surface the difference is more obvious than on a flat one. Each globe is worked from a different part of the batch, so the drift of the markings is unique to the piece. If you need a matched pair or a matched run for a hotel floor, tell us at order time and we will select them together.
