Q1: Are the two sizes the same shape?
A1: No, and it is worth knowing before you order. The W 60 x H 30cm version is a full semicircular arch that stands on two feet, like a lit doorway laid on the table. The W 30 x H 30cm version is a quarter curve that rises from one foot and leans back against a slim polished brass fin.
Q2: Which one should I choose?
A2: The wide arch is the statement piece — it needs about 70cm of clear surface and it works best seen straight on, on a console or a long shelf. The small curve is an accent and fits on a nightstand or a bookshelf. In a large room they are often specified together, the arch on the console and the curve nearby.
Q3: Do I need a bulb?
A3: No. Both sizes carry an integrated LED module built into the body at 3000K warm white with CRI over 80, rated Max 40W, with a life of around 50,000 hours. There is nothing to replace and no socket to reach, which is what allows the curve to be a continuous unbroken form with no fittings on show.
Q4: How is it switched?
A4: On the cord, and you choose the type when you order: a plain push-button switch, or a dimmer switch if you want to control the level. Ask for the dimmer build and we fit a dimmable driver to match. A dimmer suits this piece particularly well, because it is usually used as ambient light rather than task light.
Q5: Which plug will be fitted?
A5: US, UK, AU or EU — confirmed with your order, with the cord set produced to the standard of the country the goods ship to. The driver is rated AC 110-240V, so the same fitting is supplied into 120V and 230V markets with nothing changed but the plug and the lead.
Q6: Is the arch fragile?
A6: It is more robust than it looks, because the section is thick right through the span rather than tapering at the crown. That said, it should always be lifted from underneath with both hands and never picked up by the top of the arch, and it needs a level surface so the two feet share the load evenly.
