Q1: How is this lamp arranged?
A1: A wide travertine cone sits on the table, narrow at the top, and the bulb screws directly into its crown. A flat metal disc then rests around the middle of the glass, so the globe shows above and below it. The disc is the shade: there is no fabric, no diffuser and no visible fixing.
Q2: Which bulb gives the look in the photography?
A2: A large opal globe bulb on an E26 or E27 screw base, rated max 40W; bulbs are not supplied. A G125 or G95 opal LED at 2700-3000K is what the design is drawn around. A small standard bulb will light the lamp perfectly well but will sit below the brim and lose the floating look.
Q3: What kind of light does it give?
A3: Two layers. The brim throws a bright ring down onto the surface while the top of the globe glows above it and lifts the light into the room, so the lamp is soft enough for a bedside and still useful on a console or behind a sofa. The metal underside is pale, which keeps the downward light warm rather than grey.
Q4: Push-button or dimmer — which do I get?
A4: Whichever you specify at the time of order, at no extra cost. With the dimmer switch, fit dimmable E26/E27 bulbs. Since part of the bulb is visible on this model, a dimmable opal globe is worth paying for — it keeps the glass even at low settings instead of showing a bright core.
Q5: Which plug will it arrive with?
A5: US, UK, AU or EU, produced to the standard of the country the order ships to, so no adaptor is needed. The wiring is rated AC 110-240V, which means the same lamp is supplied into 120V and 230V markets with only the cord set differing. Confirm the destination market with your order; if one shipment covers more than one territory, give us the split and we pack them separately.
Q6: Is the cone base stable?
A6: Yes. It is solid stone, wide at the foot and heavy for its size, so the centre of gravity stays low even with the globe and brim on top. Set it on a level surface, lift it by the stone rather than the disc, and let the bulb cool before changing it.
