Q1: What is the difference between the two sizes?
A1: Not only the height. The tall one is a straight travertine cylinder of Dia 9 × H 30cm with a softly rounded shoulder and a larger glass ball on top; the small one is a squat tapered cone of Dia 11 × H 20cm, wider at the foot, with a smaller ball. They are designed to be used together as a pair as readily as on their own.
Q2: How is the glass ball held?
A2: It sits directly in a shallow seat cut into the top of the stone, with the G9 socket concealed inside the column beneath it. There is no visible bracket or collar, so the ball looks as though it has simply been rested there — which is the whole point of the design.
Q3: What bulb does it take?
A3: One G9 capsule socket rated max 40W per lamp, bulbs not supplied. A 3-5W G9 LED at 2700-3000K is the right match: the opal ball diffuses the source completely, so extra wattage buys you nothing and a cool white bulb loses the warmth of the stone.
Q4: Push-button or dimmer — which do I get?
A4: Whichever you specify when you order, at no extra cost. With the dimmer switch, fit dimmable G9 bulbs. The cord is a twisted fabric lead, and the switch is fitted on it within easy reach of the lamp.
