Q1: What is the shape of this lamp?
A1: One tapered travertine cone that bends over near the top like a bowed neck, with a rounded opal glass capsule fitted horizontally into the end of it. There is no metal arm and no visible joint on the body: the stone does the work of the stem and the shade holder, and the capsule simply continues the line out into the air.
Q2: Where does the light actually go?
A2: Sideways. The capsule is open at the end and glows along its whole length, so the lamp pushes a soft band of light out in front of it and up onto a nearby wall instead of pooling it on the table. On a desk it lights the page without shining into your eyes; on a bedside it works as a quiet reading glow.

A3: One G9 capsule socket rated max 40W, bulbs not supplied. A 3-5W G9 LED at 2700-3000K is the usual choice. The socket sits deep inside the glass capsule and is not visible from any normal angle, so the bulb shape does not matter as long as it is a standard G9.
