Q1: What makes this one different from the other stone columns?
A1: The light never leaves a shade. A solid travertine disc is held a short distance above the top of the column, and the LED sits in the gap between them, so switched on you see a bright slot of warm light and a glow that runs down the inside of the cone. Switched off it reads as two plain stone solids stacked in line.
Q2: What light source does it use?
A2: A built-in LED module at 3000K warm white, so there is no bulb to buy and nothing to replace over the life of the lamp. Rated life is around 50,000 hours and the colour rendering is CRI > 80, which keeps timber, textiles and skin tones looking true beside it.
Q3: Is this model dimmable?
A3: Yes. The LED runs on a dimmable driver, so order the lamp with a dimmer switch in place of the plain push-button and you can take the output right down. There is no bulb to match on this model — the dimming is built in, so nothing needs specifying beyond which switch you want.
Q4: How much light does it actually give?
A4: Enough to light a nightstand, a shelf or a reception counter, not enough to read by. The output is deliberately low and aimed down the cone, which is what keeps the slot of light from glaring at seated height. Use it as an accent or a night light and keep a brighter source elsewhere in the room.
