Q1: Why is it called a scale chandelier?
A1: The body is built from flat hexagonal alabaster tiles hung in five stepped rings, each ring overlapping the one below the way slates overlap on a roof. The tiles are pinned along their top edge only, so they sit slightly proud of one another and cast small shadows down the face of the fitting, giving it a scaled, artichoke-like texture.
Q2: What shape is the overall silhouette?
A2: It steps inwards as it descends: the top tier is the widest and each tier below is slightly narrower, so the profile is a shallow inverted dome rather than a straight drum. That taper is what stops a fitting of this diameter from reading as a heavy cylinder over a table, and it throws more of the light downwards.
Q3: Which size should I choose?
A3: Two sizes, both Gold+White and both H 45cm: Dia 60cm and Dia 80cm. Dia 60cm suits a round table for four to six or a generous entry hall; Dia 80cm suits a table for eight or a larger open living space. Over a dining table, hang the base about 75-85cm above the tabletop.
Q4: What bulbs are needed?
A4: E26 or E27 screw-base sockets, bulbs not included, rated Max 40W in total. We recommend warm white LED at 2700-3000K, up to about 9W each. The lamps sit up inside the tiered body and are screened by the alabaster tiles, so the light reaches you through the stone rather than directly.

A5: Yes, provided you fit dimmable E26/E27 LED bulbs and use a compatible wall dimmer. Because the source is a standard screw-base lamp rather than a sealed driver, you keep full control over colour temperature and dimming behaviour simply by choosing the bulb that suits the room.
Q6: How is it packed and installed?
A6: It hangs from a brass chain hardwired to a ceiling junction box, and the chain can be shortened link by link to set the drop — an electrician job. The gold frame ships assembled in a moulded foam bed with the alabaster tiles packed in separate padded layers; the tiles are hooked on tier by tier once the frame is hung.
