Q1: What makes this pendant different from a plain box light?
A1: The body is one solid alabaster block, so when it is lit the whole volume glows — top edge, ends and long faces together — instead of only the underside. Along the base runs a fluted brass strip with fine vertical ribbing, which catches the light escaping from the bottom and throws a warm reflected line back up onto the block.
Q2: What size is it and how does it hang?
A2: One size: L 45cm × H 15cm. It hangs on two fine cables from a slim rectangular brushed brass canopy, and the cables are adjustable on site up to about 120cm of drop. Because it is only 45cm long it is often specified in pairs or in a row of three along a bar counter or a long island.
Q3: What bulbs go inside?
A3: G9 sockets, bulbs not included, rated Max 60W in total. We recommend 3-5W G9 LED at 2700-3000K warm white. Since the light source is completely enclosed by the alabaster there is no glare from any viewing angle, which is why this shape works at low mounting heights over a counter.
Q4: Will the veining look the same as the photos?
A4: The pattern will be similar in character but not identical. Every block is finished individually, so the depth of the cloudy shading and the direction of the faint veining vary from piece to piece. If you are ordering several for one room, tell us and we will select blocks from the same batch so they read as a matched set.
Q5: Where does it work best?
A5: Kitchen islands, bar and reception counters, long consoles and hallway runs, and either side of a bed as a pair of low-hung pendants. The compact 45cm body and the soft, glare-free glow suit places where people sit or stand close to the fixture and a large chandelier would be overwhelming.

A6: Hardwired to a ceiling junction box through the rectangular brass canopy — a short electrician job of about 30 minutes. The alabaster block ships in a moulded foam bed with the fluted brass strip already fitted, and the canopy and cable set are boxed separately so nothing presses against the polished faces in transit.
