Q1: Why is it called a grape cluster chandelier?

A1: The globes are massed around a central brass stem in tiers that step inwards as they descend, finishing in one sphere hanging below the rest. That taper is exactly the profile of a bunch of grapes, and because the globes touch rather than float apart the piece reads as one solid sculptural mass instead of a scatter of separate pendants.

 

Q2: What size is it?

A2: One size: Dia 69cm across the widest tier x H 63cm for the cluster body, with each alabaster globe measuring roughly Dia 15cm. The brass stem above it is adjustable on site up to about 100cm, so the total height from ceiling to the lowest globe can be set between roughly 70cm and 165cm.

 

Q3: What bulbs does it use?

A3: One G9 socket inside each globe, bulbs not included, with the fitting rated Max 40W in total. We recommend 3-5W G9 LED at 2700-3000K. Because every socket sits fully inside its own alabaster sphere there is no visible filament and no glare from any viewing angle — only the globes themselves glowing.

 

Q4: Can it be dimmed?

A4: Yes. Fit dimmable G9 LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible wall dimmer. Dimming this particular fitting is worth doing — taken down low the outer globes fade before the inner ones, which deepens the cluster and makes the brass stem read more strongly through the gaps.

 

Q5: Is the brass stem solid?

A5: It is a solid brass tube with a brushed gold finish and a clear protective lacquer, and the globe arms are welded to it rather than clipped, so nothing works loose over time. Clean with a dry soft cloth only — metal polish and solvents will cut straight through the lacquer and leave the brass to tarnish unevenly.

 

Q6: Where does it work best?

A6: Over a round dining table, in an entry hall, or dropped into a stairwell where it can be seen from below and from the side. It needs a ceiling of at least 2.8m to sit comfortably; in a lower room use the shortest stem setting and keep it away from the main circulation route, as the cluster is deliberately bulky.
