Q1: What makes this different from an ordinary mini pendant?

A1: The lens. A clear faceted optic is set into the underside of the alabaster dome, so the fitting does two jobs at once — the stone shell glows softly at eye level while the lens pushes a tight, bright pool of light onto whatever sits beneath it. Most alabaster pendants only do the first of those.

 

Q2: How big is it and what does it weigh?

A2: Dia 12cm x H 15cm and about 1.2kg, in White Alabaster with brushed brass hardware. It is deliberately small — the point is a discreet cap of stone above a nightstand or a console, not a statement shade. One size only, so specification is simply a question of how many drops you need.

 

Q3: Where is it normally used?

A3: Hung in pairs either side of a bed at roughly 40-50cm above the nightstand, over a narrow console or hall table, or in a short row to graze a gallery wall. The narrow downward beam makes it a reading light as well as a decorative one, which is why it suits hotel bedrooms and serviced apartments.

 

Q4: Do I need to buy a bulb?

A4: No. A 5W LED module is built in at 3000K warm white with CRI over 80, rated for around 50,000 hours. There is no lamp to source, no socket to match and nothing to replace during the normal life of the fitting — useful when the pendants are installed in quantity across a project.

 

Q5: Can it be dimmed?

A5: Not as standard; it is supplied for a plain wall switch. A 0-10V or TRIAC dimmable driver can be fitted at the factory instead. Tell us the dimming protocol at order stage — in a bedroom application dimming is usually worth specifying, and it cannot be retrofitted afterwards.

 

Q6: How is it fixed and how do I set the drop?

A6: It hardwires to a ceiling junction box behind a small brass canopy, and the cord is cut to length on site by the electrician, so the drop is set to your ceiling rather than to a fixed catalogue figure. IP20, indoor only — keep it out of a shower zone or an open covered terrace.
