Q1: What is the design?

A1: A draped-glass pendant. A single round hand-blown glass disc is laid over a horizontal cross-bar; under its own weight, the two halves of the disc slump downward on either side of the bar — forming two soft half-disc 'curtains' joined at the top through one continuous piece of glass. The whole shade is suspended by a triangular leather strap looped over the ends of the cross-bar, rising to the ceiling in an inverted-teardrop outline.

 

Q2: So is it one piece of glass or two?

A2: One. The shade starts as a single round disc; the two visible half-disc 'curtains' are simply the two sides of that disc draping down over the cross-bar. The fold along the top — where the glass crosses the bar — is also part of the same continuous piece. No seam, no joint.

 

Q3: How is the glass made?

A3: Each disc is hand-blown into a flat circle, then heated in a kiln and laid over a metal cross-bar form. Gravity does the rest: as the glass softens, the two sides slump and drape into the saddle shape, freezing in place as the kiln cools. Each piece is then hand-polished. Because gravity does the shaping, no two shades drape exactly alike.

 

Q4: What finishes are available?

A4: Three finishes: Brown (warm amber-tinted glass with brown leather strap), Smoke Grey (cool grey-tinted glass with black leather strap), and Clear (clear hand-blown glass with brown leather strap). Each reads differently — Brown is warmest, Smoke is moodiest, Clear is the most architectural and shows the slumped curve most clearly.

 

Q5: What is the light source and color temperature?

A5: Integrated LED, 5W, concealed inside the cross-bar so the light source is hidden by the glass on both sides and only the glow reaches the room. Push-button switch (not dimmable). Three CCT options at order: Warm White (3000K), Neutral White (4000K), or Cool White (6000K).
